What do you use a Smoke Wand for?

♦ to ground yourself at the beginning or end of a ritual, a yoga session, ...

♦ to connect with your intuition: during a tarot session, journaling, ...

♦ to ritually/energetically cleanse the energy of a space, a person, gemstones, tarot cards, ...

How do you use a Smoke Wand?

You carefully light the top of the Smoke Wand and let it burn briefly until you see the top glowing and then you blow out the fire. The Smoke Wand will now continue to glow and smoke. How long depends on how brightly you have let the Smoke Wand burn and how large the glowing surface is. You can now move the Smoke Wand around your altar, yourself, your space, your gemstones, ... so that the smoke circles around it. You can now continue to hold the Smoke Wand or place it on a fireproof dish. You can let the Smoke Wand continue to smoulder or relight it. After the Smoke Wand has smouldered and cooled, you can tap off the ashes and remove them.

You can reuse the Smoke Wand multiple times.

* Use a fireproof dish under your Smoke Wand

* Never leave a smoldering Smoke Wand unattended

* Make sure you can ventilate the room during or immediately after your ritual so that the smoke and energy can escape.

What is special about this bundle is that it was made with local herbs.

The majority of Smoke Wands (or Smudge Bundles or Sticks) consist of White Sage or Palo Santo, from North and South America respectively. These plants have a long history of ritual use by the indigenous people of these areas.

Nowadays there is a revival of spirituality, but due to globalization and because many people have lost the connection with the original customs of their region, the demand for the two most well-known plants for Smudging has increased sharply. So much so that the harvesting of these plants is not always done respectfully, e.g. illegal wild picking from nature reserves, which makes it more difficult for the original population to get these plants and threatens the survival of the plants.

If you still want to use white sage or palo santo, check with the seller what the origin is. Can they guarantee that the plants were harvested sustainably? You have the best chance of a sustainable product at small independent shops that buy very consciously. For example, I can recommend House of Formlab .
